Wings Of Ideas
What is WingsOfIdeas?
WingsOfIdeas is a new way to bring creative & innovative ideas to life. It is a rewards-based crowdfunding platform, where people pitch their creative projects and tap into their social network to raise funds for their projects. People who fund these creative ideas don’t get any monetary returns but interesting rewards from the projects, such as exclusive and early bird access to the project, limited edition merchandize, experience in the making of the project etc.
What is our goal?
WingsOfIdeas mission is to build a community of patrons for creative ideas in India. We believe that great ideas are brimming in India, but they die an early death due to lack of funds and social validation. The only solution to this problem is to create a platform for people with great ideas to meet other people who can back these great ideas.
How can people with creative projects use WingsOfIdeas?
It’s simple! If you have an interesting creative project, follow the steps:
Step 1: Check out our Rules and Project Eligibility guidelines to see if you fit our criteria.
Step 2: Submit your project by filling a simple step-wise form.
Step 3: If you get approved, we assign you a dedicated crowdfunding consultant who will help you create your crowdfunding plan – the pitch video, rewards and marketing strategy.
Step 4: Once you have built your campaign page and have prepared for the campaign with your consultant, you go live and start raising funds.
Once your campaign goes live, you get up to 45 days to raise your funding goal and if you are unable to raise it, the money goes back to your funders and you don’t get anything. WingsOfIdeas also doesn’t get its commission if you don’t meet your funding goal. But don’t worry, WingsOfIdeas has the highest success rate of 70% in India, so you are in good hands. See the creator questions below for more information.
Who funds these creative projects?
There are 2 sets of audiences that a creator ideally has to target: the known networks (friends, family, colleagues, alumni) and the unknown networks (friends of friends, fans and followers). We see at least 20%-30% of the funding coming from the known network. And if the project goes viral, funders can come from the unknown sources as well. Unknown people flock in to fund only if the idea is unique and inspiring and is becoming viral. A campaigner has to use his personal network to push the idea out and make it viral.
I want to fund creative projects listed on WingsOfIdeas. How can I fund?
Simple! Follow these steps:
Step 1: Click here to see the projects listed on WingsOfIdeas.
Step 2: Click on any project you’d like to fund and you’d be taken to the campaign page of that project to get all details about the project.
Step 3: If you like what you see, choose a reward that you’d like and click on “Back now”. You can also just support the campaign with your own amount if you don’t want to get a reward in return.
Step 4: Once you click on “Back now”, you will be asked to Sign Up so that you can create an account and keep track of your rewards delivery and project progress.
Step 5: You will be taken to the payment page and you can fund using any method of payment such as credit/debit cards, net banking and can even order a cash pick up if you’re funding from India.
And you’re done! You can also message the project creator if you have any questions, reviews about the project you have funded from your WingsOfIdeas account. You can also help spread the word by sharing the project on your social media profiles such as Facebook and Twitter.
Note – Your funds are transferred to the project creator ONLY when he/she meets his/her funding goal. If not, your money is returned to you by the end of the campaign. See the Backer questions below for more information.
Why All or Nothing?
Because it’s honest and fair and takes care of everyone’s interest. As a creator, you’ve promised a certain quality of project. But you can deliver that quality only if you get the actual required amount, else you will cut corners and not deliver what was promised. Besides, if you don’t raise your full target amount, the chances of creating your project become bleak. This might make your backers anxious. Remember you are involving the public by using WingsOfIdeas so being trustworthy and transparent will only work in your favor. Apart from that, this policy works! Global Research has proven that crowdfunding platforms following the All or Nothing policy have a much higher success rate than the ones who don’t follow this policy. WingsOfIdeas has a 70% success rate despite having this daunting policy. Our success rate is higher than most other crowdfunding platforms in the world. This policy drives a sense of urgency and seriousness among the backers to fund creators, and backers can trust the platform more.

Does WingsOfIdeas have Paypal?
No, WingsOfIdeas does not use PayPal and neither does any other crowdfunding platform in India. Also PayPal does not work with crowdfunding platforms in the world as per their recent mandate.
Why do I need WingsOfIdeas when I can run a campaign on Facebook?
Technically you can run a campaign on your own using Facebook but working with WingsOfIdeas makes your campaign more effective and raises your chances of success tremendously:
1) Credibility: When you place your project on a crowdfunding platform, people trust you more because they know a platform has screened you for your ability to deliver the project. Running a campaign on your own may only attract your own network, which trusts you, but to get more people on board, you need to go with a platform like WingsOfIdeas.
2) Consulting: Crowdfunding is all about good communication and marketing. At WingsOfIdeas, you get all the help and attention you want in devising your campaign marketing and communication strategy from WingsOfIdeas consultants who are experts in helping projects raise funds successfully.
3) Analytics and data: WingsOfIdeas provides you with all the information you need about your backers; their emails, phone numbers, address so you can communicate with them and send them their rewards.
4) Multiple payment collection services: With a platform, your backers can get multiple options to pay like credit/debit cards and netbanking, whereas, on your own you can only offer account transfers, which are cumbersome to execute.
5) Customer care: With our technology, we can trace all potential backers who browse the campaign but leave without making an attempt to pay. We make phone calls and email follow ups to help them convert. So you get an extra pair of hands and legs who go after people to get money for you.
6) Better communication format: A platform like WingsOfIdeas allows you to follow a communication format, display a pitch video, rewards and content about your campaign, all at one place. Facebook is not designed for such communication, so the campaign doesn’t look and feel formal and exciting enough.
Why should I choose WingsOfIdeas over other crowdfunding platforms?
Good question! Here’s why:
1) Multiple payment options: Foreign platforms only accept credit cards and very few people in India use credit cards. WingsOfIdeas provides multiple payment options like debit cards, credit cards and netbanking, and even cash pick ups. We also accept funding from international funders through Stripe.
2) Customer service: Indian backers are more comfortable paying on an Indian platform due to access to customer service, which may not be feasible on a foreign platform. Plus our customer service personally makes phone calls in case of transaction errors faced by funders.
3) Consultation and services: Foreign platforms do not personally connect with project creators to help them prepare for their campaigns. Probably people abroad don’t need this, but in India we realized that people need help with their pitch videos, rewards and a marketing plan. So WingsOfIdeas’s consultants come to your rescue and prepare you well. Hence, Indian campaigns are more successful on WingsOfIdeas than on foreign platforms most importantly, because we give personal attention.
My campaign has better chances of success on a foreign platform because they have a large backer community. Right?
Wrong! While foreign platforms have built a large community of backers over the years, it’s not easy to reach a platform’s community merely by putting up your campaign on the platform. Any platform chooses the campaigns they want to show to their community via their homepage, newsletters and social media. And they choose only those campaigns that become popular through the marketing efforts of their creators. So if you are running a campaign for a film project on a platform, your campaign will not be visible to the platform’s community until you’ve created buzz about your campaign; bloggers have written about you, press has talked about you, or it’s just caught on word of mouth publicity on social media. So basically in the end, it’s all your marketing effort that gets you showcased on the platform’s community. Hence, choosing the platform on the basis of their community is not the right reason to choose a platform
What happens if I don’t meet my target within the time limit?
WingsOfIdeas follows an All or Nothing policy, which means that if a creator is unable to reach 100% of his target, all the money is refunded to the backers. Having said that, if a campaign has reached up to 70% of its target and needs a little more time to reach the finishing line, we can consider giving an extension. Your consultant will give you the advice you need about the extension, if needed.
So is 100% of the money returned to the backers in case I don’t meet my target?
No, while WingsOfIdeas does not deduct any commission on the money raised, our payment gateways deduct their commissions, which range from 2-5% depending on the gateway, method of payment, and amount. So overall, the funder gets 95-98% of his money back.
What happens if I raise more than my target?
You get to keep the extra money raised! You can do more with the money and let your backers know how are you going to use the excess amount. But remember, more money also means more backers, which means more rewards have to be shipped. So you might end up using the extra money to cover reward expenses.
If I have met my target and still have time left, does my campaign still go on?
Yes, your campaign ends only when your time is over.
If I meet my target and still have time left, can I ask for more funds?
Yes, if you need more funds and you can justify your costs, you can announce a Stretch goal and ask people to help you meet it. For example, a filmmaker once targeted Rs. 6 lakhs on WingsOfIdeas and ran her campaign for 45 days. But she raised her target in just 15 days and used the remaining 30 days to raise 3 more lakhs. She announced that with 3 more lakhs she could hire her favorite cinematographer!
Can I run more than one campaign for different projects at the same time on WingsOfIdeas?
Raising funds on WingsOfIdeas is a full time activity. Even one campaign requires a lot of preparation as well as a few people to run the show. So it’s practically impossible for you to run 2 campaigns at the same time, as you will not be able to give your 100% to either. And yes, we don’t allow it either for your own benefit. Running two projects at the same time also impacts your credibility among your network.
Can I run 2 different campaigns for the same project on WingsOfIdeas and another platform?
Unfortunately we don’t allow that. It’s actually for your own good that you should refrain from running different campaigns for the same project on two different platforms at the same time. Here’s why:
1) WingsOfIdeas is an ‘All or Nothing’ platform, which means that if you don’t meet your target, the money is refunded to your backers. So if you run 2 campaigns on different platforms, you divide your audience and run the risk of not meeting your target on WingsOfIdeas and subsequently losing all the money
2) Communication from two different platforms to your audience can confuse them and they might end up not attempting to fund you at all
But if you still must do this, we suggest you run 2 campaigns at different time periods.
Am I eligible to use WingsOfIdeas to raise funds for my project?
All Indian citizens or anyone with an Indian bank account can raise funds on WingsOfIdeas. We work with all individuals, organizations, non-profits as long as their projects fall under our project eligibility criteria. If you’re a non-profit entity, make sure you have an FCRA approval to receive contributions from abroad.

Please visit our Rules Page to check if your project falls in the categories we accept. If you are still confused, write to us at support@wingsofideas.com and we will figure this out and reply to you in 24 hours.
In your evaluation form, you have asked for a Work in Progress of my project, what does that mean?
Work in progress is a way to showcase what you have done so far in your project. Showing work in progress builds your credibility and you have higher chances of convincing people to back you. We accept the following ‘Work in progress’ for each category:
1) Arts & Design: Themes, materials, sketches/miniatures of what you want to create; an early sample of the project, anything that can give us the look and feel of your project, a working prototype.
2) Film/video: A small promo, teaser or a trailer.
3) Music: A song scratch from the album or EP. If it’s a music video, then the theme of the video, shoot schedule. If it’s an event, the artist line up, time, date and venue details.
4) Dance: If it’s an event, then you need the venue, dates and artists’ lineup. If it’s a studio, you should have rented it already and you can raise funds for doing up the interiors. If you wish to learn dance, then submit to us your offer/acceptance letter with the fee break up.
5) Theatre: The story, key characters, venue where you want to showcase the play.
6) Publishing: The story and the publisher should be on board or if you’re self publishing then who’s helping with printing & art works.
7) Comic: The story, graphic artists, and the publisher should be on board. Along with rough sketches and visual representation of the key characters of the comic book.
8) Photography: Any sample of the photography work you wish to create.
Why do I need a target amount? Can’t I raise as much as I want?
No, you cannot use WingsOfIdeas to raise as much as you want. This is a platform for projects that have a specific budget like films, music albums, or comic book. Having a target shows clarity, preparedness and accountability on the part of the creator that builds trust among the potential funders.
The form asks for a Target amount. How should I decide the target amount of my project?
Your crowdfunding target should be decided on the basis of the following factors:
1) First and foremost think if your idea is really out of the box and unique and if its an idea that can connect with the mass public. If your idea has all these ingredients, it has the potential to go viral and get the public to fund.
2) How much do you really need? What is the minimum amount your project will need to get delivered? Remember it’s All or Nothing on WingsOfIdeas, so choose your target wisely. Make sure you raise the minimum amount you need to deliver the project, instead of gunning for a maximum amount.
3) How much do you think will your ‘known network’ (friends and family, ex-employers, clients, ex-colleagues, alumni) cover? In any crowdfunding campaign, the personal network at least funds 40% of the amount, only then can you hope for the general public to start funding because they come with the ‘herd’ effect. So you need to have a solid base of friends, fans or followers who can push your idea out by sharing extensively or funding it or both.
Can I change my target amount before launching the campaign?
Yes, you absolutely can!
For how long can I run my campaign on WingsOfIdeas?
You can choose up to 45 days to run your campaign.
How should I decide the deadline for my campaign?
If you’re raising less than 10 lakhs, we suggest you keep a tight deadline of 30 days. If you’re raising more than 10 lakhs, it is advisable to keep a 45-60 day deadline.
What all do I need to create a campaign on WingsOfIdeas to raise funds?
A project’s campaign page on WingsOfIdeas has 3 main sections:
1) A 2-minute pitch video
2) A set of rewards for backers
3) Information about the project and its team
But you don’t have to get these ready before getting accepted on WingsOfIdeas. You have to first only submit a simple form on WingsOfIdeas with your project details and if your project gets selected, you get a dedicated crowdfunding consultant to help you with all of the above campaign page requirements. It will take you up to 30 days to prepare all of the above.
What if I need more than 30 days to prepare for my campaign?
If you need more than 30 days, you can discuss your reason for delay with your consultant and we can extend your preparation time if it looks feasible. However, the maximum period we can allow is 45 days for preparation. If your campaign doesn’t launch by 45 days, we will cancel it and you will need to reapply and pay consulting fee again.
I don’t need 30 days, I can get started right away. How can I do that?
As long as your pitch video, rewards and marketing plan are in place, you can go live with your campaign sooner than 30 days. But your WingsOfIdeas consultant will decide how prepared you are to go live. Your consultant may have feedback on your pitch video or marketing plan to improve it and increase your chance of success and we suggest you take this feedback very seriously and work on it. If you can work on your consultant’s feedback quickly, you can go live as soon as you are ready.
What is WingsOfIdeas Feedback and why is it important for me to incorporate it?
WingsOfIdeas’s feedback means the suggestions provided by your campaign consultant on the key elements of your campaign page and marketing plan, such as your pitch video, your rewards, budget, email lists, marketing plans etc. WingsOfIdeas’s feedback is very important to incorporate if you want the campaign to be successful. WingsOfIdeas has a 70% success rate because we have learnt over the years what makes a campaign successful and we provide that guidance to you so that you can also raise funds successfully.
Can WingsOfIdeas reject my campaign for not incorporating its feedback?
Yes, we do exercise our expert discretion on this point and we may reject your campaign for not incorporating our feedback. Our feedback is based on our experience of all the successful projects we have done so far and we know what works and what will not work. We will go to lengths to reason out with you about why our feedback is important. But ultimately, if we are not convinced, we may reject your campaign. In case of rejection after feedback, we will not refund the consulting fee because we would have already provided you with our time and feedback on the project.
Can I use Copyrighted material on my campaign page?
No you cannot use copyrighted material on your campaign page, unless you have permission to use it and you can show us proof of the permission. WingsOfIdeas will take down the copyrighted material if someone reports its illegal usage.
Will I get my unique campaign URL before I launch the campaign?
Yes, you can get it from your consultant.
How do I give access of my campaign page to my team members?
You can share your login and password with them and notify your consultant of the people who will have access to the page.
What all should I put in the Project details section of my campaign page?
Here’s a guide to understand how can you make your Project details sound interesting for your viewers.
Can I put up images or videos in my Project details section?
Yes you can put up any images or even videos if you want. Don’t make your image and videos files too heavy, because your campaign page load speed might slow down.
A pitch video significantly raises your campaigns chances of raising funds successfully. Visually showing what you want to create and have created so far and rubbing off your passion on the viewer can make a huge effect on the person going through your campaign page. The pitch video is your single most effective and emphatic tool to convince a person to fund you.
Does WingsOfIdeas make the pitch video?
No. We don’t make the pitch video. The Project creator needs to make one. We provide consultation on the script and editing. We will also give you strict feedback if we think your pitch video is not up to the mark and is not able to do the job of convincing people. We expect you to work on our feedback.
Do I need to hire a filmmaker or someone experienced in filmmaking to make my pitch video?
No, a pitch video has to be simple and genuine- that’s what matters the most. At the same time, a technically sound video is important too, so that your viewers are not irritated. So just make sure you get someone who knows how to make a professional video with good camera handling skills, can manage good sound and edit your video like a story. Also, here’s a guide to making a good pitch video.
Can I make a pitch video in my local language?
You absolutely can! Talk in the language you are comfortable in. People will in fact appreciate that. Just keep English subtitles.
What are rewards?
Rewards are tangible incentives you offer your funders in exchange for their funding. They are essentially first copies of your project, or experiences related to your project that you can offer to your funders. Check out our guide to help you build an interesting list of rewards.
Is it mandatory to offer rewards?
Yes, it is mandatory to offer rewards. Rewards encourage backers to fund a project and offer a gratification value in exchange for their funds. Besides, when someone backs a project on WingsOfIdeas, it is not for charity but to support an idea and become its patron. So the backer would like to receive a part of what he/she helped launch.
Why can’t I just offer equity/profit as a reward? Or return the money later?
No, you cannot offer any sort of profit/equity sharing on WingsOfIdeas. WingsOfIdeas is trying to democratize funding for the creative sector, to find support for ideas that are at a stage where they may not be ready for investment and may just need believers to help them launch the project.
Can I limit the quantity of rewards?
Yes you can.
Can I add shipping to my list of rewards?
Yes you can. Just head to the campaign edit page and add your shipping details.
I don’t want to ship some rewards internationally, what should I do?
You can choose an option to restrict shipping internationally in your Campaign edit section. If any reward is restricted from shipping internationally, the funder will be notified about this when he is choosing a reward.
Can someone enter his own amount to contribute?
Yes, a funder can enter his own contribution amount while making a payment. In this case, he will not be assigned any reward.
What if someone wants to give a big amount but wants investment in return?
If someone is interested in giving more money for a monetary reward, he/she can contact you directly, with the “Ask a Question” button on the campaign page.
How do I market my campaign?
Marketing a campaign is a well-thought out strategy and your campaign consultant will be drawing out a plan for you. Every project’s marketing plan is built on the basis of the right audience target. Visit our crowdfunding guide to know more about how to market your campaign.
How does WingsOfIdea market my campaign?
We market only those projects, which have reached at least 20% of their target, and the ones we feel are really unique or ideas that are getting a lot of attention (from the marketing efforts of a creator). We showcase such projects on our homepage that is followed by thousands of people everyday, newsletter that goes out to a community of 30,000+ WingsOfIdea backers and our social media properties like Facebook and Twitter.
WingsOfIdea has complete discretion over which project it chooses to promote and when it chooses to promote it. However, one thing we do for ALL campaigns is help them multiply their audience.
For one, we have Facebook and Twitter share buttons on a campaign page, so anyone who comes on the page can spread the word easily. On an average, a campaign sees a thousand shares and tweets.
Secondly, every time a backer makes a pledge on your campaign, we send an email out to his friends and connections that may be in WingsOfIdea’s database. So we help you get to the ‘friends of your friends network’.
Okay, I have completed all sections of my campaign page and I am ready to launch. What should I do?
Great! Just let your consultant know that you have submitted the campaign. Give us 24 hours to make sure all looks good, no spelling mistakes, no bad images etc. and we will send you an email with your Launch button. You can launch whenever you are ready.
After going live, which sections of the campaign page can or cannot be edited?
You can edit the following sections:
1) Pitch video
2) Project details
3) Team section
4) FAQs
You CANNOT edit the following sections:
1) Your target date
2) Your target amount
3) The break up of your expenses
4) Rewards
You can find your project in your profile section of the website.
What are project updates? How can I use this section?
Use this section to keep your backers updated with the progress related to your project. Every time you post an update, your backers will get an email about the update. You should use this section even after your campaign is over on WingsOfIdeas to keep up the communication with your backers. You can post images, text, videos, anything you like, in this section.
Simply reply back using your Message inbox. Make sure you reply promptly, since it will help people in deciding whether to fund your project or not.
You can track your campaign’s progress in the Analytics section of your campaign dashboard. Connect with your consultant to understand the graphs and numbers and to get help on next steps on improving your campaign’s progress.
Can I see Google Analytics information on my campaign?
Yes, your campaign page is integrated with Google analytics. You will be able to see your traffic and sources information in your Analytics section.
My campaign isn’t doing very well. What can be the problem?
When a campaign isn’t doing well, you must connect with your consultant to analyze parameters like Email marketing, Pitch video, social media content etc., to see where the problem lies and what can be improved. Usually, either the idea isn’t connecting very well with people, or you haven’t reached out to enough people in the first place. So the problem lies in marketing and communication, so get your consultant’s help on improving your campaign’s progress. Also read this guide on Campaign marketing to get more ideas.
You can find the list of all your backers in your campaign dashboard under “backers”.
If I face any technical issue on the page, who should I report to for quick troubleshooting?
Please report all issues you are facing to support@wingsofideas.com and we’ll sort you out.
Help! Many of my friends are complaining that their online payment is going unsuccessful every time they attempt to fund. What should they do, I don’t want to lose their funds?
Fret not, dear friend! Sometimes there can be internet connectivity issues between the payment gateway and the bank servers, which can lead to a payment failure. But we have the situation under control. Our system tracks every failed transaction and the reasons for failures. And here’s what we do:
1) We send an immediate troubleshooting email out to all the potential backers with options to help them try again
2) Our Support team personally calls up people to remind them and encourage them to pay again. We are quite the persuasive types, so our calls work wonders!
Don’t worry, remember it’s all or nothing, we don’t make money if you don’t. So we go after every penny with our troubleshooting efforts!
Help, I am unable to upload my pitch video?
Please send your video file to support@wingsofideas.com and we will upload it.
Can I request for an earlier payment?
We can only process payments after 15 days of your campaign end date. The banks usually take time to release the funds and can take up to 15 days.
Where do funds get transferred?
We transfer the funds in the bank account you have registered with us.
Can I change my bank account during the course of the campaign or after?
You are prompted to set your preferred bank account when you launch your campaign, so you cannot change it yourself post launch. If you need to request a change please email support@wingsofideas.com.
Can you give me the funds in cash?
No cash transfers, sorry!
Is the amount raised for my project taxable?
Yes. The amount that hits your bank account will have income tax implications. Please connect with your Chartered Account to help you with this.
Does WingsOfIdeas deduct TDS from its payment to me?
No, WingsOfIdeas does not deduct TDS while making payments. The onus to deduct TDS is on the person receiving the service. In your transaction with WingsOfIdeas it is you who is the recipient of the service.
My Financial Advisor has mentioned that I need to deduct TDS from the commission WingsOfIdeas charged me. How can I do this?
WingsOfIdeas recognizes that if you are running your crowdfunding campaign as an organization, you have to pay TDS on the commission amount. We request that you pay this amount due and send the certificate to accounts@wingsofideas.com and we shall happily transfer the amount as mentioned on the certificate to you.
Congratulations! You will receive your funds within 15 days from the end date of your campaign.
Will my campaign page be removed on WingsOfIdeas after it is over?
No, your campaign page will be here forever. In fact, it is your project profile and so all the current information will remain as is on your campaign page. You can use your campaign page account to put updates so that your backers can get notified about the project progress.
By when will I need to launch my project post funding on WingsOfIdeas?
Ideally you should deliver the project and the promised rewards within 6 months of raising funds on WingsOfIdeas.
Does WingsOfIdeas oversee the completion of projects?
Yes, WingsOfIdeas does keep a check on project’s progress and completion every now and then by keeping in touch with creators.
How do I keep in touch with my backers and keep them informed about the progress of the project?
You can keep in touch with your backers by using your Campaign Dashboard on WingsOfIdeas. You can put up updates on your campaign page and your backers will be notified. You can get their emails and phone numbers from the backers list in your Backers section and send them emails and messages as well. You can do all the communication with your backers directly from your Campaign account on WingsOfIdeas. Read more about best practices in Backer Management guide.
My project and/or rewards delivery may get delayed, what should I do?
It is not uncommon for things to take longer than expected to come to fruition. Many external factors can delay the completion of a project. In such a scenario, creators must keep their backers in loop about the delays and what are causing them. A creator should not cut off all communication with their backers as it might anger the backers. A jilted backer has complete legal powers to file a suit against the creator.
What if I am unable to deliver the project and have to cancel midway?
Ideally, try to avoid this situation because your reputation is at stake when you raise funds publicly. But if due to uncontrollable circumstances your project has to be cancelled, then you must keep your backers in loop about the issues. You should probably talk to all of them and try and reach a solution. Return money if you can even. WingsOfIdeas will not be involved in any arbitration between creators and backers.
Will I be banned from WingsOfIdeas if I am unable to deliver a project or deliver rewards?
Yes, you do run the risk of being banned from WingsOfIdeas and many other such channels if you don’t complete your project and also fail to keep your backers in loop. While we will not actively oversee the work in progress of your project or the delivery of rewards, complaints to us by your backers can result in a ban.
For Backers
What is a “pledge”?
Pledging simply means funding the project you like. The reason why we call it pledging is because you pledge to fund a project only if it reaches its target amount within the time period listed on the campaign page. So while the amount you’re pledging gets deducted from your account immediately, it is transferred to the creator of the project only if he/she raises 100% of his target by the set deadline. Else, we refund the amount back into your account.
Will I be charged a service fee for making a pledge?
No, you will not be charged anything extra apart from your pledge amount.
Does the project I am pledging to, get charged by WingsOfIdeas?
Yes, WingsOfIdeas charges a fee of 10% on the total funds raised by the creator(+ Rs. 10,000 for campaigns raising more than Rs. 5 Lakhs), only when the creator reaches his/her target amount. Else we refund the money to you and don’t cut our commission. So we make money, only when our creators make money.
If a project doesn’t meet its target amount by the set deadline, do I get my money back?
Yes, your pledge to the project is cancelled if it doesn’t meet its target by the set deadline. While WingsOfIdeas does not deduct any commission if the pledge is cancelled, our payment gateways deduct their commissions while making the refund, which range from 2-5% depending on the gateway, method of payment, and amount.
Do I get tax deductions on my funding amount?
Only if the project is run by an NGO which is authorized to issue a tax deduction (i.e., registered under 80G), then you will be given a tax exemption certificate directly by the NGO. Usually, if you can be given a tax deduction, it will be mentioned in the rewards section of the project.
How do I know that the campaigner is not going to run away with my money?
WingsOfIdeas carefully chooses its projects. We make sure the creators are credible by doing a thorough background check of the person; we check their past experiences, we seek referrals. Plus we only accept projects that are a work in progress and not at the ideation stage. This helps in making sure that the project is well under its way to completion. We also provide contact details of the creators to the backers, and encourage backers to do their own background check before funding their project.
Are the project creators legally bound to fulfill rewards or complete the projects?
Yes, according to the online click-wrap Memorandum of Understanding signed between WingsOfIdeas and the project creators, a creator is legally bound to fulfill the distribution of rewards to his/her backers and finish the project. If they are unable to do so and have not kept their backers in loop about the reasons causing delays or cancellation, the backers can pursue legal course against the creators.
Does WingsOfIdeas oversee the completion of projects?
While WingsOfIdeas does not guarantee the completion of projects, WingsOfIdeas does keep a check on project’s progress and completion every now and then by keeping in touch with creator.

That’s it!
Is there a minimum or maximum pledge amount?
Not at all! You can pledge an amount as small as Rs. 50 or as large as Rs. 1,00,000 or even more!
Is it mandatory to choose a reward while pledging?
No, it is not mandatory to choose a reward while pledging. You can choose to pledge a custom amount as well and not choose a reward.
Why should I choose a reward?
Project creators offer interesting and exclusive perks as rewards, which would not be available for purchase outside of the crowdfunding campaign, or would be significantly more expensive after the campaign. So it’s in your best interest to choose a reward while pledging!
What if i want to pledge a custom amount?
Absolutely, you can. Here is how:
1) Click on the “Back Now” button
2) You will be taken to the Checkout page to choose rewards. Skip the list and scroll down
3) You will see a “No thanks, I only want to help the project” option at the end of the rewards list. This is where you can enter your own pledge amount

What if the creator fails to deliver the project after successfully crowdfunding on WingsOfIdeas, do I get my money back?
If you have funded a project that ends up meeting its target successfully, you cannot get a refund. The money collected goes towards making the project happen. People funding on WingsOfIdeas are well aware of the risk involved in funding unknown people and they fund such projects despite the risk because they want to come forward to support an idea.
While we have not seen this before but if the project creator is unable to deliver the reward to you in the promised time, you have the full right to take a legal action as covered by the funding policy and terms of use of WingsOfIdeas but you may not get the refund, as it would have been used towards the project.
